Profile of a Newspaper

Students will enjoy this lighthearted tour of the Sludgeburg Herald as they learn about the bits and pieces that make up a newspaper. They will become familiar with terms such as nameplate, top story, banner headline, byline, dateline, wire service, syndicate, and more. Using a local daily newspaper, students will cut and paste together examples of what they have learned. Kit includes 2 CDs and reproducible student Response Sheets. Grades 5-11.
